Leslie Baker, MA, MFT, NCC, RPT-S has over twenty years of experience counseling individuals, couples, marriage, teens and families.
“I am passionate about the privilege to be invited into the life of another and share in their story, develop understanding and assist them toward the changes that are important to them.”
Leslie graduated Magna cum Laude with a BS degree, in Child Development / Family Studies from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo; and she earned her MA degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Santa Barbara.
Prior to starting her full time practice as a marriage and family therapist in Pleasanton, Leslie had a broad range of practical, non-profit, community and county agency experience. Having worked in group homes for the physically and emotionally challenged, the public school system as a behavior specialist, and as an intern in child abuse agencies and eating disorder clinics.
Leslie is the Owner/Director of Therapy2Thrive™ of the Ruby Hill Marriage & Family Counseling Center, Inc. where she provides counseling to couples as a Certified Gottman Therapist, teens, tweens, individuals and families She provides training and supervision to licensed and pre-licensed clinicians who provide services at Therapy2Thrive™ Counseling Center Pleasanton.
Leslie is a retired faculty for the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Phoenix. She was awarded Faculty of the Year in 2008. She is a clinical member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapist, Association for Play Therapy and the American Counseling Association.
She is Suicide Bereavement Clinician Training and specializes in trauma recovery for couples, youth and individuals. She is an expert in technology and it’s impacts on youth and families and integrate technology in play therapy.
